Job mission

We are looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to help turn AI concepts and prototypes into secure, scalable, and production-ready solutions across Synthon.

In this role, you will work closely with Data & AI Scientists, Data Engineers, IT teams, and business stakeholders to build, deploy, and integrate AI-powered applications that create practical business value. You will play a key role in operationalizing machine learning and Generative AI solutions, including knowledge assistants, intelligent automation, RAG-based applications, and AI-enabled business tools.

The role combines software engineering, cloud engineering, and AI application development. You will help establish reliable engineering practices, deployment workflows, integrations, monitoring, and security controls for AI solutions within Synthon’s Microsoft Azure environment.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building practical AI applications and enabling their safe, reliable, and scalable use within a regulated pharmaceutical organization.

Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered applications and services that support business processes across Synthon
Collaborate with Data & AI Scientists, Data Engineers, and business stakeholders to transform AI concepts and prototypes into production-ready solutions
Develop APIs, integrations, and backend services that enable the adoption of AI solutions within enterprise platforms and business applications
Build and manage secure, scalable, and reliable cloud environments for AI applications, primarily within Microsoft Azure
Deploy, monitor, maintain, and continuously improve of machine learning and Generative AI solutions
Implement engineering best practices, including CI/CD, automation, testing, and version control.
Integrate AI solutions with enterprise systems, collaboration platforms, and knowledge repositories.
Contribute to AI platform architecture, reusable engineering patterns, security controls, and governance standards
Stay informed about developments in AI engineering, cloud technologies, and software development practices, and evaluate their potential value and applicability within Synthon.

Location:

Preferred location: Sant Boi de Llobregat, Spain.
Alternatively, HQ Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

Requirements

Your profile

Your letter of motivation and CV should show that you have:

BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
At least 3 years of relevant experience in software engineering, AI engineering, cloud engineering, or a related discipline
Strong Python programming skills
Experience developing APIs, backend services, or business applications
Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure
Experience with software engineering and deployment best practices, including version control, testing, CI/CD, and cloud-based application deployment
Understanding of cloud security, authentication, and application lifecycle management.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience developing or deploying AI and Generative AI applications
Familiarity with Microsoft Azure AI services, Microsoft Fabric, or related cloud technologies
Experience building enterprise applications, integrations, or internal platforms
Experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, manufacturing, or other regulated industries.

Type of contract

Initially for 12 months, with a prospect to a contract for an indefinite term

Languages

Good command of the Spanish and English language, both excellent verbal and written communication skills.
